Necklace: Hmong Layered Torc
Necklace: Hmong Layered Torc
This torc necklace is handmade by artists of the Hmong ethnic group who have traditionally lived in China, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The Hmong silver style is very distinctive and the metal itself is known for being an alloy of silver, copper, and nickel. The blend of metals of this specific necklace is notably more silver in nature than other pieces with the same percentages. Pieces are often raw in nature, showing impurities, and don’t hide unrefined techniques. We love this.
The necklace is joined in the back by a silver strap and fits closely as a weighty choker.
It is a common belief amongst the Hmong people that silver accessories have spirits.
Measurements: 17” inner circumference
As per standard, very early vintage is not polished unless requested. Silver will naturally polish the more that it is worn.
All jewelry is sold as is & is non-refundable.
All pieces are selected for their high quality condition & uniqueness.
