Necklace: J Comes Spiked Onyx Choker

Necklace: J Comes Spiked Onyx Choker

$925.00

A vintage, yet more contemporary piece from Taxco that reflects the influence of mid-century atomic motifs often seen with William Spratling and Salvador Terán.

This necklace has flex, but holds its shape while threading dense silver beads and 15 onyx inlay spikes. The spikes are weighted, not hollow, and hang with a flexible give that allows the necklace to conform to your neck. The box clasp has an added safety hinge for extra security. The piece can be worn with the inlay showing or flipped to be all silver.

The work that I know of J Comes is very finished, heavy metal inlay. The silver is .970, higher grade than the .925 sterling, and has a polished look to it.

The onyx that he chose is rich. It is uniform in color and in the right light has an iridescent hit of silver.

A very unique collar design that I have never seen before.
